And so Rappahannock County Highs football season ends with a loss - TopicsExpress

And so Rappahannock County Highs football season ends with a loss to Pope John Paul The Great Catholic High School last night. I know there are those who are skeptical of so small a school as RCHS even having football. Be that as it may, we do now have a program and maybe some day we can be known as the small school that could , with success on the field. Anyhow a pleasant evening spent working in concessions, making barbecue sandwiches , and nachos with cheese, as one of the volunteers from the Rappahannock Democratic Committee who sponsored the game. 18th District House of Delegates candidate Colin Harris was present and did the coin toss. Lets hope he ,unlike the team, has success at the polls next month. Turns out he worked at the Sorenson Institute at UVa with my close friend and former colleague Bob Gibson from the Daily Progress. (Yes,I still sometimes miss the Progress and the community I was a part of for so long. But then if I was still there- I wouldnt have been back in Rappahannock. Always a silver lining.)
