And so a middle age man approached me for directions to Malaysia - TopicsExpress

And so a middle age man approached me for directions to Malaysia embassy at Orchard mrt today. I stopped and took out a piece of paper and drew out a mini map for him. As I was doing so we chatted a little and I found out that he was actually jobless due to the disappearance of his previous employer. So now he have no money and no friends to ask for help. I asked him to try to ask Ministry of Manpower for help but he said he was turned down due to his nationality and was told to go to Malaysia embassy instead. Told him it might be a better idea to take a bus there but he said he prefer to walk as he dont have much money on him. I was like omg... Ok let me show u the way to walk while following my map. After that I lead him out of the train station as its easier to guide him the direction to walk outside... And this was the time he asked if he could borrow some money to buy a bottle of water. I mean I dont know if it was a good idea to do that as he might be a con artiste going ard orchard road repeating the same story and try to get a few dollars. But than again I was like thinking, its too much of an effort to get a few bucks dont u think so... So I took out a $10 note and pass it to him and told him to get his lunch too. Of cos I do feel a bit questionable if he really was trying to ask for directions but I guess whatever the case is, only people desperate will probably asked for help this way be it the story is entirely true or not.
