“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 NIV The Peace Child In the 1960‘s, missionaries Don and Carol Richardson endeavored for years to translate the Bible into the language of the Sawi people of New Guinea, as they struggled to make the sacrificial story of Jesus relevant to them. War broke out amongst the tribes, and peace was only obtained by one tribe-member’s offer of his only son, a sacrifice for peace that was considered too costly to betray. This great sacrifice produced peace, and Don and Carol saw the road God had paved for them to relate the full meaning of Christ’s sacrifice. God, became flesh and gave himself to be the “Peace Child” for all of humanity, so that you would understand an eternal peace He purchased for you that is too costly to betray. Today’s One Thing How can you intentionally recognize the sacrifice God made to have a personal relationship with you? Going Deeper John 1:1-18; Psa 74
