".......And the angel of the LORD said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king. And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son. Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?.........2 Kings 1:15-18......." Lesson: The captain of the third batch of the army sent to bring along Elijah was very wise in communication and approach in delivering his message to him.......it might have been the corpses of his other colleagues on the ground that redefined his approach.......notwithstanding there is a lesson to learn from that......we must give regard to true servants of God........ Num 12:8…….With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?........Elijah was ministered God to go and meet the king........The initial judgement of death declared for seeking after Baalzebub has not changed........ Rom 6:23......... For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord…….. The true prophets at these period do not mutilate the word from God, they deliver them without fearing the king or the owner of the message........in verse 17......the prophecy of Ahaziah dying was fulfilled........his posterity ended because he had no son and Jehoram reigned after him......... Rev 22:18-19……. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.........as believers we have learnt a great lesson from this first chapter to put all our life and hope in God no matter the situation we might find ourselves....... Prayer: O Lord give me boldness to declare your word without the fear of man.....in Jesus name.....Amen.
