And today, on this last day of the year, I had a moment of sadness. Not for myself, but for some very cherished loved ones who have suffered devastating loss this year: The loss of babies, the loss of parents, the loss of health, of soul mates and of self. My heart has wept with you all, and I thank you. Despite your suffering and through your sacrifice, you have gifted me with your deepest selves, your truth and the stark reminder to be grateful for the blessings in my own life. I carry your spirits and your mindful teachings with me into tomorrow and the tomorrows beyond that- reminding me to give thanks for every breath I take, for every moment (joyful and challenging) I have with my children, for every night I fall asleep beside the man I love, for the plentiful food on my table and every conversation I have with a treasured friend. 2015: I ask nothing. 2014 showed me I already have everything. And I am very grateful.
