Andrea James has great points, Calpernia Sarah Addams has great points, and now my friend Alexandra Billings weighs in with her great points. These three ladies, who are friends, dont all completely sync up with their opinions on this subject, but what they do is respectfully offer their takes via civil discourse. Sitting on the sidelines watching this all play out is an education, and the takeaway isnt just about the word tranny. The takeaway for me is - disagreement doesnt need to include name calling, scoring points at someones expense, or demeaning them with condescension or screeds fueled by silly internet bravery. Disagreement can be a discussion over dinner, with everyone walking away friends.
