Andrew Lovelace in front of his grocery store on Roosevelt Avenue, ca. 1913. The small girl is my grandmother who lived to age 100. The store opened in the 1890s and finally closed during WWII - he could not understand the rationing system and ran afoul of the authorities. Its location in the 1400 block of Roosevelt has been pretty much swallowed by Interstate 70.
