Angel In Disguise Today we honored and recognized our first Angel. Mark Hurlbert was nominated by his wife Kristianne. They have been married for 20 years, have not had a true vacation or get away in 10 years and the last 8 years have not been easy. Kristianne was diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis (Bone Death) in both of her hips the day before her 35th birthday. It was devastating to the whole family. First was the task of finding a Doctor which was not so easy, followed by many surgeries and recovery time. Mark has stayed by Kristianne’s side for many steps forward and for a lot of steps back. She was always scared that he would get tired or have enough of it, and was terrified that he would leave, although he never gave any reason for her to feel this way. Kristianne stated that Mark is lucky if he has sick time left to take for himself since most of it is used for her surgeries and Dr. Appointments. She wanted something to rejuvenate him so that he can continue to help her and their family. Mark was presented with a Award that read “YOU ARE RECEIVING THIS AWARD FOR LIFTING SOMEONE TO THEIR FEET WHEN THEIR WINGS WERE HAVING TROUBLE LEARNING HOW TO FLY” Mark was also presented with a gift certificate in the amount of $500 to Sportsworld.
