Angie Flynn-McIver - You didnt tag me, but Im inviting myself to your game. :) Okay, lets change this up and talk about some of the theatrical experiences that have moved/affected/influenced you the most (live theatre, not movies; as an audience member, not a participant). Here is a short list of mine: 1. Evita (Somewhere in the Boston area. I went with my Dad and its the first professionally produced production I remember seeing.) 2. My Fair Lady - (the first show I saw on Broadway. Rex Harrison was Henry Higgins) 3. Anything Goes (in high school. I was sad not to be in it, but my friend David was amazing in it) 4. The Crucible - Trinity Rep. Theatre in Rhode Island - an incredible production! 5. Barnum - Ruth Eckerd Hall - because one of my dearest friends played the title role and I was in awe of how much hed grown as an actor since I had last seen him on stage - when I already thought he was amazing. 6. Miss Saigon - Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center - which is the first time I blubbered that much at a musical. Seeing it at Flat Rock Playhouse may have been the second time. 7. Souvenir - at American Stage in St. Pete, FL. Surprised by how charming it was. 8. Dead Mans Cell Phone - Immediate Theatre Project/NC Stage - because I walked out excited about the amazing quality of theatre there was in the mountains of North Carolina. 9. Angels in America - NC Stage. Parts I and II. This was written for spectacle and a large proscenium theatre - but I dont think I ever want to see it anywhere else. The fine acting, directing and the intimacy of experience in a small theatre had a profound impact on me. 10. Proof - at Flat Rock Playhouse. Rebecca Morris and Andrew Hampton Livingston were fantastic in this - and its been one of my favorites in a long line of exceptional theatre Ive seen here in WNC. 11. Wicked - which I saw in Chicago. Because the people I was with - and because of the many surprises related to a story my husband I both love. 13. Chicago at Asheville Community Theatre. Because Ive seen this several times and it is this community theatre production which has been my favorite. 14. Jacob Marleys Christmas Carol - because its a study in some of the finest acting Ive ever seen. Michael MacCauley 15. Pippin - on Broadway. Because it was amazing and because who was sharing the experience with me. 16. Pericles at NC Stage (Right now until Sept. 14 :)) - because the creativity of the director and actors surprised and delighted me that much! Also A: This was hard to narrow down - I know Im leaving many out. B. I will also admit, with some embarrassment, that I was moved to tears by the spectacle of The Rockettes show in NYC. I somehow remember someone or something flying over my head in the audience at Radio City Music Hall and I burst into tears at the theatricality of it all. C. - I cant remember a theatrical experience that didnt move me emotionally. OK - I tag: Scott Verissimo David Mendes (even though you wont see this, well talk about it later. :)) Gary Rifkin Julie Helgren Podewitz Merrie Cheyne Polly Welmaker Kris OShea Jerry Crouch and anyone else who wants to play.
