*** Anglers bid for places in Lucy’s Bowl *** Bids are flying in for places in an annual charity competition set to be held at popular Hampshire syndicate, Frimley Pit 3, next month. Lucy’s Bowl, which helps raise money for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association (UK) will take place on the weekend of 8-10th August having gained exclusive access to one of the top syndicates in the region, courtesy of its owners, Mark and Lorraine Fisher. Places in the event are currently being auctioned off to the 20 highest bidders (minimum bid £100) – bids must be received by 9pm on Sunday 20th July. Swim choices for the match will be decided by the amount each successful bidder has raised, with the highest bidder getting first choice, the second highest bidder second choice, and so on… Pit 3 at Frimley is well known as being one of the best waters for 30lb-plus commons in the country. There are more than 250 big commons, including Charlie’s Mate, which is one of five fish that go over the magical 40lb mark. The venue record common currently stands at 46lb-plus, and there are also mirrors of more than 40lb to go at, too.
