Anglicans cry out against marginalisation in Anambra. We warned - TopicsExpress

Anglicans cry out against marginalisation in Anambra. We warned them against APGA when they behaved like objects of blind hypnotism. We are also being marginalised because at all government offices, members of the Roman Catholic Church are holding key positions, while our members are nowhere to be found in the scheme of things. For instance, the Chief Judge, as well as the Speaker of the House of Assembly are Roman Catholic. Secretary to the state government is a Roman Catholic, the Chief of Staff is a Roman Catholic, Head of Civil Service is a Roman Catholic, the Commissioner for Finance is a Roman Catholic, and the Accountant General is a Roman Catholic, Commissioner for Education is a Roman Catholic and the Commissioner for Health is a Roman Catholic, as well as many other permanent secretaries. It had never happened like that in the history of Anambra State and we see it as a problem because anything concerning Anglican will not be treated with the seriousness it deserves. That is why we are afraid of this matter because no matter how it is discussed, it is still the Roman Catholic that will decide on it. And it will definitely go against us. We want a change, hence we are appealing to Governor Willie Obiano to look into this matter and change the appointments. We are in danger in Anambra State. Recently, out of the 3, 500 people employed in the state, only about 300 were from Pentecostal and Anglican. That means in the years to come, all the permanent secretaries, headmasters, principals and so on will be Roman Catholic. We are also stakeholders in Anambra State and are not small in number, but they are telling the world that we are not many. That is a ploy. As the executive governor of the state, he should be able to manage a society, where people have diverse cultures, religions and all that, to balance things. RT Rev (Dr) Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo
