Angus just swallowed a baby back rib while I blinked in disbelief, then regurgitated it just long enough to take a couple of chomps and then swallowed it again, presumably still in tact, before I could even attempt to risk fingers in a daring rescue plot. From what I can gather on the web,it will probably pass (it was about 3, cooked and pre-chewed by moi and he is a quite big dog (120 lbs) and he regularly consumes vast amounts of rawhide at a go but I dont know if I am more mad at him for doing it or me dropping my guard so he could. He has raided the trash in the past and eaten old chicken bones when I was out, but I will be watching the poop until it passes. I give thanks that he did not do this just as I was heading to D.C. Oh, Labs: Hearts of gold, heads of stone, stomachs of cast iron. Sigh. Once, when we had two labs, someone got into carpet tacks and AA batteries but we had to have both x-rayed--and we discovered they had shared in those and sundry other inedible delights. They lived to be 17. Heres hoping Angus follows in their path.
