Ann Mckernan, sister of the dear, late Gerry Conlon, has asked me to post this today. Twenty five years ago today, Gerry walked out of a prison cell and into our lives. From degradation he brought dignity, from squalor, beauty, from desolation, hope and broke his chains by pure force of the human spirit. He then went on to weave his way into our souls with his huge heart, and that spirit like a hurricane.
