Ann Painter there are few who would condone the senseless slaughter of defenseless stock by dingo or dog , those of us who know the dingo,accept he is a predator and realize he does indeed do damage in pastoral areas , albeit sheep are in dingo country. there are few of us who condone the ongoing unprecedented and unorthodox continuance of unjustifiable slaughter of our dingo. there is a vast and definite difference between wild dog and dingo and perhaps this needs to be addressed, it also needs to be confirmed the slaughter of a particular dingo whilst minding his own business actually killed any stock ,the continued slaughter of dingoes based on their breed without justification is no more no less than the eradication of the thylacine based on the speculation , if we continue to destroy based on that speculation of he may kill sheep then perhaps we are all predators who should be removed from society again based on the belief that we are all no more no less than potential murders . the continued unabated slaughter creates an upheaval within the eco system that cannot be corrected , in saying that we then have a compensatory rebound effect generated by the need to fill the void of lost natural predators to keep the balance as nature intended .
