Anna Anderson Kron asked, Im looking for suggestions for something (maybe a workbook?) that my almost 8-year-old son could use during the summer to help him work on his spelling,/to recognize misspelled words. My son recently took the Peabody Individual Achievement Test and scored above his grade level across the board. His weakest area, however, was spelling. (For this test, the student is given four different options for the spelling of a word and they had to pick the correct one.) Spelling is his least favorite subject and the one he has to work the hardest at, so this was not a surprise. I would love to find a simple workbook, activity, (non-electronic) game, etc that would not require a lot of prep on my part but would give him a chance to work on this skill over the summer. Oh, and fun would be a good thing too! Any thoughts?
