Anniversary Run & Gaydon this Sunday. A few people have told us - TopicsExpress

Anniversary Run & Gaydon this Sunday. A few people have told us there hasnt been enough information so just in case youve missed what is happening this Sunday here is a load of blurb! Over 100 cars expected to converge on Gaydon and the museum are aware of that. On Sunday we intend leaving Triumph Way, Speke at one minute intervals starting around 8:00 am, so an early breakfast will be required and this has already been arranged for those of us staying at the host hotel at Aintree. Route Books are available for those booked on the run but despite being thorough are only intended as a guide and if you prefer to take an alternative route down to Solihull, Canley or Gaydon then that is entirely your prerogative. We hope to have all the cars at Gaydon around midday and Tony Lee (Triumph Chief Development Engineer) has been tasked with cutting the TR7 celebration cake at around 3:00 pm and to also say a few words. Hopefully well be able to entice some of the others attending to come to the microphone too. For this we have a dedicated Meeting Room set aside (Conference Room 1) and the infamous Wedge Wall will be on display - its last outing before the NEC in November. Is your Wedge on it? We will also have Bullet Reloaded playing on a large screen to provide a great backdrop and help set the scene. We have a wealth of ex-Triumph personnel promised to support the event and there should be coverage by both the Classic and the local Press. Gaydon have also been publicizing for us so dont be surprised if the day makes national news. This is sure to be the biggest newsworthy story for these cars since they went out of production in October 1981. All in all it will be a TR7/TR8 day not to be missed and something we are never likely to ever be able to repeat.
