Announcements for Sunday, January 4 ~ This afternoon at 2:00 - 4:30 p.m., John Ice is facilitating “More Love, Joy and Peace through Grief.” Consider attending this if your world is in flux and you would like some loving support. See the flyer on the website, and sign up in the narthex. ~ Next Sunday, January 11, come explore the question “Who Are You, Really?” with Gretchen Hansen. Her seminar will share a framework that helps “connect the dots” between spiritual teaching and everyday experience, to enable the removal of conscious and unconscious barriers to experiencing your authentic self. See the flyer on the website, and sign up in the narthex. ~ On Monday, January 12, The Sistrum Channel will meet in the sanctuary at 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Please pick up a flyer from the wall near the main entrance and then sign up in the narthex if you plan to attend. ~ Wayne Manthey’s Drum Making workshops are taking place on January 31. If you would like the unforgettable experience of making your own drum, please see the flyer and sign up sheet in the narthex. The deadline for sign up is January 14th. ~ Unity North Spiritual Center is showing the movie “Kundalini” on Thursday, January 15 at 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Kundalini is a powerful, transforming energy that is a natural birthright to all people. The evening includes discussion of the film and examples of Kundalini presence, life practices and opportunities. ~ Teachers’ Good for You Day is January 17. Brenda McNallan is looking for a few people to watch a movie and serve and eat some snacks with our children on that Sunday. Please see her if you can help out. ~ Karl Schlotterbeck’s Shamanic Disciplines Training Group begins Sunday, January 18 at 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and continues the 3rd Sunday of every month through June 21st. For more information about this group, see the flyer and sign up sheet in narthex. ~ HeForShe met its worldwide enrollment goal in 2014 of 200,000 men and boys. The goal for 2015 is to have 1 billion men and boys committed to take action to bring about gender equality for women and girls. We currently have 21 leaves on the HeForShe tree. Men, add your name to a leaf after you make a HeForShe commitment. Women, recruit a man to make a HeForShe commitment and add both of your names to a leaf. Amazon will soon have HeForShe pins and T shirts available. They look very sharp and fashionable. Be the first to wear one at Unity North. ~ Are you interested in serving as a Prayer Chaplain? If you feel called to explore this service to the community, please attend one of the two orientation sessions. These sessions can answer your questions about the description and expectations of this role, and what you can do to prepare for training in the fall. Two orientation sessions are scheduled: January 11th at 12:15 p.m. and January 14th at 6:45 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Drube.
