Annual Protection and Advocacy of Individual Rights (PAIR) Program Assurances Deadline: September 8, 2014 1.usa.gov/TMxkLL Section 509 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (act), and its implementing Federal Regulations at 34 CFR Part 381, require the Protection and Advocacy of Individual Rights (PAIR) grantees to submit an application to the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) Commissioner in order to receive assistance under Section 509 of the act. The act requires that the application contain Assurances to which the grantee must comply. Section 509(f) of the act specifies the Assurances. There are 57 PAIR grantees. All 57 grantees are required to be part of the protection and advocacy system in each State established under the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 (42 U.S.C. 6041 et seq.).Comments are invited regarding this notice 8. Generic Clearance for the Collection of Qualitative Feedback on Agency Service Delivery (NICHD), Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), National Institutes of Health (NIH) Deadline: September 9, 2014 1.usa.gov/1qC8XyH The proposed information collection activity provides a means to garner qualitative customer and stakeholder feedback in an efficient, timely manner, in accordance with the Administrations commitment to improving service delivery. By qualitative feedback we mean information that provides useful insights on perceptions and opinions, but are not statistical surveys that yield quantitative results that can be generalized to the population of study. This feedback will provide information about the NICHDs customer or stakeholder perceptions, experiences and expectations, provide an early warning of issues with service, or focus attention on areas where communication, training or changes in operations might improve delivery of products or services. These collections will allow for ongoing, collaborative and actionable communications between the NICHD and its customers and stakeholders. Using Video to Enhance Early Intervention Services Part 2: The Nuts and Bolts of Working with Video Files Tuesday, July 22, 2014, 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. ET https://aucd.org/template/event.cfm?event_id=7156&id=16 Part 1 of this series, presented on April 22, 2014, reviewed the conceptual basis for using digital video in early intervention and illustrated many ways that video can enhance a number of key practices, including assessment, evaluation, documentation, planning, family support/engagement, self-reflection, coaching, reflective supervision, professional development, virtual participation, and more. Part 2 will explore more technical aspects and will review a six-step process for working with video, including shooting, titling, organizing, editing, sharing, and storing video files. This event will share a wide variety of successes CAAI grantees have experienced in the identification, assessment, diagnosis, and services to children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities and their families. Webinars 11. Needs Assessments: Opportunities for Collaboration across Multiple Stakeholders Wednesday, July 9, 2014, 3:00 p.m. bit.ly/1j0QlG9 The National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities (NPA) is hosting a webinar focused on community needs assessments in partnership with Community Action Partnership and the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI). Speakers will provide an overview of the key elements of assessments used by Community Action Agencies, hospitals and public health programs to inform community benefits and services programs. Specifically, presenters will discuss commonalities and differences in the outcomes and applications of the different assessments, the degree to which health equity concerns are captured by these assessments, and opportunities for improved coordination between users of both assessments. 12.
