Announcing the end of our haunted house... We named it The Orphan at Quari Street. Had a cool backstory to go with it and everything. We gave away candy and charged admission. It was extremely popular in our little community and we had hundreds of visitors. For what it was... It did well, and Ill just say that we basically broke even revenue vs. expense. We had clever mechanisms to scare the kids at every turn, a fog machine, ambient music, lots of props, and convincing actors (including myself and Becky) it was all fun while it lasted. So... Its just before Halloween and we had to tear it all down because it started falling apart. Even though most people were respectful, we unfortunately had a few rowdy ones who decided to rough house while inside and ended up tearing up structural parts of it. (As it was, it was impressive considering it was all done with only 12lb test fishing line, wall mounts, and black painters drop plastic) So although it wasnt completely unfixable, we ended up deciding it was a fitting end. It had a good run, and ultimately it would be nice just to have our house back to normal (lol). We had an entire working and pretty awesome haunted house all in the space of a 15x18 ft living room.
