Anon. question: Hello, Im a 16 year old girl with #EDS 3 and Ive been suffering with recurrent mouth ulcers from a very young age. Ive tried every preparation that is available on the market including Orajel, Iglu, Bonjela, Anbesol Liquid, Soothagel, Daktarin, Aloclair Mouthwash and Gel, Isy Calm, Corsodyl Mouthwash and many others. Ive also tried GP prescribed treatments including Adcortyl in Orabase, Difflam Mouthwash and Corlan Pellets and home remedies including gargling with salt water, Aloe Vera Juice and Milk of Magnesia to neutralise the acid in my mouth. I eat healthily and have been tested for both vitamin B12 and iron deficiencies. I have good dental hygiene, use a soft toothbrush and also use a SLS free toothpaste. None of the treatments that I have tried have helped and my mouth ulcers are making it very difficult for me to eat and speak. Does anyone have any suggestions for further treatments to try or of causes that may have been overlooked?
