Anonymous - Re-Posted By Danny :P Hi everyone, I have a question. Im a 19 year old female who is currently undiagnosed, but Im POSITIVE Im an Aspie. It explains everything in my life. Anyways, one thing that doesnt necessarily line up with the typical view of AS is that Ive always been extremely sensitive and compassionate... to the point where I cant watch certain movies because I get physically sick for the characters. Ive still never finished Bambi, lol. And watching The Little Princess when I was Elementary school age ended up with me in a complete meltdown, so we had to pause it and finish it the next day when I calmed down. And when I watched the Titanic for the first time in grade 10, I cried so hard I almost threw up, because I couldnt stop thinking about how that really happened and how they must have felt as they were trapped and drowning. Ive always been the type to reach out to people without friends and to really empathize with people who are struggling. Can I still be an Aspie with this trait? Im also fiercely loyal. So when I finally go and see a psychologist to get diagnosed, Im afraid (s)he will say that despite all my other obvious symptoms of AS, I cant have it because Im so empathetic to other peoples feelings. Maybe Im just overanalyzing this (story of my life), but Id really love thoughts. Thanks!!
