Anonymous Question: Could you please ask the group if anyone knew of a medication that didnt cause memory fog or confusion. I am 29 years old and just got diagnosed with Idiopathic Epilepsy on Friday 10/31. I have had 2 grand mal seizures back in May and then had an EEG come back normal but was diagnosed as epileptic and put on Keppra. I took myself off of Keppra 8 weeks ago due to the side affects and another doctor thinking that I possibly wasnt epileptic after further testing came back that I for sure have epilepsy they immediately put me on Topamax. I havent even upped my dose once yet and will be going from 25mg to 300mg over the course of a few weeks. I am already having issues with brain fog and numbness and tingling in my fingers. I am a manager and can not afford to feel like I cant formulate a sentence. I need to know if anyone who has generalized epilepsy had experience with any meds that dont cause brain fog or other crazy side affects that allow me to function and support my two young boys as a single working mother of a 7 and 5 year old.
