Anonymous for Animal Rights celebrates 20 years of activism! Hundreds of people came to the Tel Aviv Cinematheque on August 22-23 to mark 20 years of Anonymous for Animal Rights with two days of movies, lectures, and stalls. This short film on Anonymous accomplishments over the years was featured in the opening event and was received with wild enthusiasm from the audience. Also present at the opening ceremony were Minister of Environmental Protection Amir Peretz and vegan news anchor and Meatless Monday promoter Miki Haimovich. Among the films featured in the festival: The Ghosts in Our Machine. theghostsinourmachine This award-winning film gives a haunting and intimate look into the lives of animals used for food, clothing, and research, through the eyes of photojournalist Jo-Anne McArthur, founder of the We Animals project. https://facebook/WeAnimals Cowspiracy https://facebook/cowspiracymovie Avid environmentalist Kip Andersen discovers the UNs report on the impact of animal agriculture on the environment, and goes out to talk to environmental organizations to understand why they wont address the main cause of climate change. Life According to Ohad An animal rights activist tries to reconnect with his family after many years, in the hope that they will understand the reasons for his dedication to the cause. Turkeys Roi Wander documents the lives of turkeys and workers at the turkey farm in Tzora, a kibbutz near Jerusalem. Also featured were more mainstream films such as Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Delicatessen, The King and the Mockingbird, The Story of the Weeping Camel, and several short films.
