Anonymous post, can you help? “My baby boy is 8mths old next week and has only slept through the night on 4 occasions. On average he will wake anywhere between 6 and 10 times a night. We have tried Tracey Hoggs Pick Up/Put Down, tried the shhh pat, tried controlled crying and everything in between and are at our wits end. Looking for advice on what we should do now. Heres our average day; 6am baby wakes 7am formula bottle {about 5oz} 7:45am 4tbsp bowl of porridge Then off to crèche or grandmothers house depending on day 10am Nap for approx 1 hr 11am Formula bottle {approx 6oz} 12noon Yoghurt or Fruit puree 1:30pm Nap for approx 1hr30 3pm Formula bottle {approx 6oz} 4:30 Dinner of chicken, fish or beef with veg 5:30 Collected from crèche or grandmothers 6pm Playtime and wind down time reading books 6:30pm 10mg Zoton {reflux meds} 6:50pm Change into night time nappy, he wears a long sleeve vest in bed, sing lullabies, kisses & cuddles, warm bottle, close curtains with black out blinds in bedroom, turn on white noise 7pm Sit on armchair in bedroom and feed baby formula bottle approx 7oz 7:10pm Baby finished bottle and drowsy, lay on our bed and put him in Grobag and sit him on my lap for a few minutes before putting him into his cot beside our bed. He sleeps with baby pillow and Sleepytot soother holder. Room temp is generally 21-23℃. Generally goes off to sleep in cot without much fuss but will wake every 2-3hrs crying with his eyes closed. Will only settle if you take him out and cuddle him for a minute, always try to put him back into his cot while still drowsy but not asleep. Very sensitive to the lightest noise, we had his cot in his own room thinking it was us keeping him awake but he woke just as often and we were exhausted from marching in and out of rooms. Also tried putting him into our bed but still woke and I couldnt sleep a wink as I was terrified of the quilt going over his head. We moved baths to twice a week and in the morning as he seems to get v excited. He is a very energetic baby, always moving kicking and curious, nonstop! Can anyone offer a suggestion that we havent tried at this stage?” If you would like a question posted anonymously, please message our page.
