Another 25 people have been killed in clashes in Obi Local - TopicsExpress

Another 25 people have been killed in clashes in Obi Local Government in Nassarawa State North-Central Nigeria. Not long ago, the Governor of the State escaped impeachment which many say was induced by the PDP backed by President Jonathan. This new wave of violence, analysts are saying, is being orchestrated from the Presidential Villa in a move to oust APC Governor Al-Makura who is seen as a threat to GEJs ambition in 2015. President Jonathan has always said that his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. However, recent events have exposed his lack of concern for the safety of Nigerians. This allegation against the ruling party PDP and Jonathan, if true, will put further credence to recent revelations by Australian hostage negotiator Steven Davies. Davies has in a recent interview named top members of the PDP and Jonathans loyalists as sponsors of Boko Haram. The North has been under Boko-Haram siege since Jonathan took over power. Despite billions allotted to security in the budget, the insurgents continue to gain ground. It is also believed by some commentators that the insurgency is being sustained by those who have turned the situation into a cash-cow. The President has insisted that the insurgency is an attempt by the Muslim North to discredit his Government. Hence, rather than take-on the insurgency, Jonathan has turned to image smearing and mudslinging against opposition politicians. As usual, Jonathan, rather than investigating the serious issues raised by Steven Davies, will concentrate on retaining power beyond 2015. The Presidents body language has been interpreted to mean `let Nigerians continue to die while I sort 2015 out.
