I have been playing drums for almost 50 years and I am a reasonable reader, it is clear that a lot of thought has gone into writing these exercises. Pat Petrillo uses a "sound pictures" technique to explain each notation and then repetition by repeating as many times as you wish by using the replay button as each rhythmic notation is memorised and internalised...Teachers will learn a lot from this also.
