Another Earthquake, Every Penny Counts !!! Assalaamu Alykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu: Another 6.8 magnitude earthquake has hit the same region of Baluchistan, Pakistan where close to 500 people died. This earthquake has killed at least 20 more people and buried more under the rubble according to Helping Hand for Relief and Development’s (HHRD) Emergency Response Team (ERT). Country Director Pakistan HHRD, Br. Fazalur Rahman has informed us that Pakistan Meteorologists has placed the second earthquake at 7.2 on the Richter scale. HHRDs Emergency Response: - Local and provincial government is responding to National and International help for the affected areas. - HHRD has met with the Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch to coordinate further efforts in the area. - Mashkay is the most affected area, especially after today’s earthquake but it is also the more unsafe area for security reasons. o HHRD has sent field staff and a mobile medical team to Mashkay with medicines. - HHRD base camp has been established in Awaran City - Medical Camp in village Peerandar Dal, (UC Awaran, district of Awaran), benefitting 43 individuals. - Ambulance has reached Awaran with medical supplies - Food (Dry Ration) has been distributed among 50 more individuals today along with tents, and necessary Non Food items in village Peerandar Dal, (UC Awaran, district Awaran). Fazalu Rahman said, “Due to earthquake 95% of their houses have collapsed and its difficult for them to survive.” They have lost their family members, homes and livelihood.
