Another Halligan name will be added to the New Zealand sporting scene at the New Zealand surf lifesaving championships in Ohope this week. Cooper Halligan, son of former Kiwis league star Daryl and younger brother of New Zealands world champion lifesaver Devon, will join his older sister at the championships when the three-day carnival starts on Friday. The 19-year-old, who has grown up in Sydneys northern suburbs, will compete for Mount Maunganui across a variety of disciplines in both the under-19 and open divisions.
