Another Honey Dog Series Episode #1 (Honey was a dog that belonged to Walt Perryman and this is the dog’s point of view.) The other day me and my master the great Luckenbach poet walked into the Luckenbach bar and Virgil the bartender hollered, “You cannot bring that kind of trash into this bar!” My master replied, “What do you mean?” And Virgil retorted, “I am not talking to you I am talking to Honey Dog”. I love Virgil, should have seem my masters face. Anyway my name is Honey and I write these series to other Canines to help give them a chuckle and good advice. Like Fellow dogs, do not never ever go to a High School reunion with your master. It was kind of funny but my master walked around with his gut sucked in (he thinks that takes 20 lbs off him, Hee! Hee!!) Heck his face was red he could not breath and all this time he kept that forced looking smile as he made the rounds. Oh! Kiss my dog biscuits, Sorry I hate to use those bad words but if you could had heard how well we are doing OMG. World traveler he was, always in coach he always bought the cheapest ticket. I also did not hear about his old pick-up we travel in, my master is cheap. I never heard him tell, how if he drinks too much beer I have to drive home, how he puts the duct tape on my paws to keep them stuck to the steering wheel. I feel like a piece of Velcro. Nor did I hear how he tells his poems over and over and over, If I hear about his little dog getting run over one more time I am going to throw up my “taste like chicken” treats. Artificial chicken flavor what kind of a master feed his loyal pet that crap? I want to tell him to get over it. And there again anytime a pretty girl walks by he “Sucks it in”. Why can’t humans just sniff like we do, it would save them a lot of trouble. Well join me tomorrow for another Honey Dog episode. Arf! Arf!”
