Another Metro experience from today. This morning Im took the elevator down to the station with about five other women. I was near the door and as its going down, I start to hear erratic heavy breathing. Before the doors open one of the women moves in front of me, presses herself against the door, breathing heavily, staring blankly. The doors open and the other passengers file out as if nothing is happening. Im uncertain what to do. I think she is having a seizure but Ive never seen anyone have a one before. I do know that there are many types of seizures. She was kicking the wall as I stepped out. Not angry kicking but a sort of spastic rhythm. I follow behind the other people I rode down with and watch them all file through the gates and continue on their commute. I stopped a manager and told him about her and the last I know of the situation, he was walking to the elevator. I wished I could have stayed to find out if she was okay but at least someone was going to check on her. But how can four other people not even blink an eye and just continue on their way as if nothing odd had happened? How can you not take a few minutes to inform a station manager? I know it sounds naive but I was stunned. Still am. I hope shes okay.
