Another battle, another medication. EBV (Epstein Barr Virus) levels are high again now that we have suppressed the immune system. They are considering another medication to treat. This weekend a very heavy duty chemo/immune suppressing anti-rejection medication will be given. It will wipe out his immune system for 6 months rather than short term like steroid pulses. Our doctor explained that he is very concerned the rejection is not improving and we are running out of time. At this point he says saving the transplanted bowel is about 50/50. This brings tears to my eyes. Lots of tears in between the smiles these last few days. Angel has so much to contend with. It can be overwhelming. But we know we serve a God who has a plan... A God who loves Angel more than we do... And a God who is good no matter the outcome. He created Angel. He brought him into our family. And will take him home when it is time. In the meantime there is still a battle for that precious little life raging on.
