Another cross-post from Oliver Tromans: Here is my 3rd - TopicsExpress

Another cross-post from Oliver Tromans: Here is my 3rd mini-treatise posted in the last 3 days! Let me introduce 10 more of my own short (numbered) reflections (theological aphorisms) -- this time on prayer. 1. Just as a bird cannot fly without wings, so it is impossible for the intellect to ascend to God without pure, noetic prayer. 2. When the intellect prays in spirit and truth, it is transported to the noetic realm where it contemplates the Immaterial immaterially. 3. The wo/man who prays truly, prays in total freedom from every sensation, image, and form. 4. When the intellect prays as it should, it is acting in accordance with nature. 5. The peace that comes through pure prayer is the natural state of the intellect. 6. If we pray for those who offend us, we imitate Christ in his love for the world. 7. When we ask God, in prayerful repentance, to forgive us our past sins, it is not in God, but rather in us, that a change takes place. 8. Rather than recall to God our past failings in detail, it is better to pray for patient endurance of what comes to us. 9. If we are able to patiently endure the afflictions that befall us, we will always pray with joy. 10. No matter what comes our way, if we say Thy will be done, our prayers will always be answered.
