Another defining impact I hope to make on the community with Girls Are Leaders is opening even more doors for girls of all ages to participate in service learning. This is something that had a life-changing impact on me when I was young and I want to involve Adela in service that will draw out her bravery and expand her understanding of the world and all of its differences. I would love to see GAL girls out in the community once a month, on a Saturday perhaps, making a difference in a way that aligns with what theyre learning about leadership. Since I cant tackle this right now, I wonder if anyone else has any thoughts or interest in developing this aspect of the program? Maybe a Service Learning Coordinator who lines up a handful of dates/times/places through the end of this summer break? Im getting quotes on GAL shirts, etc., so that we can create a little teamwork feel. Girls who are available can participate - maybe go for a GS badge if possible. Just throwing this out there. Ill return to the idea later if no one wants to grab on. Thanks!
