Another fantastic day for the club in Timahoe today as all three teams won their respective home games. Huge credit must go to our groundsman John Quigley who had the pitch looking like a carpet. Thanks to all the parents and supporters who turned out today in the glorious sunshine, it made for a great atmosphere. Results: U10 - T&S 4-0 Abbeyleix The lads led 1-0 at the break and had to be thankful to keeper Andy Delaney for pulling off a fantastic save before the interval. T&S got on top on the resumption of play and romped to victory with Conor Fitzpatrick, John McCarthy and Conor Buggie amongst the scorers. U13 - T&S 6-2 Tullamore United After a shaky start which saw Tullamore take an early lead, the U13s began to get a foothold in midfield and took control of the tie. A first half hat-trick from the incredible Darren Robinson, a header via Mark O Connell and a volley from Chris Moran gave them a 5-1 half time advantage. The second half was a much more even affair as Tullamore pulled one back, however, there was still time for Míchael Conlon to slot home a penalty to seal their first win of the season. U14 - T&S 2-1 Mullingar The lads maintained their 100% start to the season after another hard fought home victory by the narrowest of margins. Shane Lynch struck for the opener on twenty minutes after the Mullingar keeper parried a Ronan Maher effort following a defence splitting Bernard Wheatley pass. The score remained 1-0 until half time but Mullingar, who only managed two shots on target in the game, leveled with less than twenty minutes to go. The away side piled forward for the remainder of the game in search of the winner but with just two minutes to go, T&S got the winner. Ciaran Carroll cleared from a corner and Adam Nicholl Waugh raced clear on goal but unselfishly squared the ball to Shane Lynch who made no mistake. The lads stood firm for the closing minutes for a deserved win.
