Another fine job by the men of the Brigantine Professional Firefighters. R-2 & E3 responded under the command of Captain Weidner for a fall victim of approx 12 feet. Units arrived on location finding pt on first floor of construction site that was in the framing stage and on pilings. Pt fell approx 12 feet when staircase to second floor gave out. Pt was conscious and alert but complaining of extreme pain to heels of feet. Pt did not lose consciousness and had stated that he did not sustain any neck nor back pain during the fall. Patient immobilized with Manual C-Spine Stabilization. Patient immobilized with LBB, CID, Collar. Along with E-3 crew pt was carried on back board from construction site and placed onto stretcher. Pt loaded into R-2. Medics met on location and performed their assessment which resulted in a 12 lead EKG as well as a glucometer reading. Medics also established an IV and administered medication intravenously as well as saline. Oxygen, 15 LITERS via Re-breather Mask given by FF/EMT Tom Cooker. Detailed assessment was conducted while enroute to ACMC-C. EMS splinted Pt.s injuries during transportation. R-2 arrived at ACMC-C and placed Pt in the trauma room.
