Another glorious British summer day and for once, I can say that without a hint of irony! Martin is off turning hay as fast as he can because the faster it is made, the more nutritional value it will retain. Meanwhile, I spotted a couple of lame ewes while out walking the dogs this morning so I went out before it got too hot with Mollie the wonder dog and got the sheep in so I could catch them, see what the problem was and give them some treatment. Lameness always involves pain so anti-inflammatory pain relief is part of the treatment protocol we have written into the flock health plan we developed with our vet, Phillipa Page from Wood Veterninary Group. I will keep an eye on them but they should be significantly better in a couple of days.
