Another great warrior is standing at the gates of eternity. He is facing the final battles he will face. During WWII, he stormed the beaches at Normandy, fearlessly sacrificing so that you and I could sit in our warm safe homes. Curtis Flemming, recently knighted by the state of South Carolina, left friends and fellow soldiers on that beach many years ago. He must soon leave loved ones here. I have no medals, no laurel wreaths, no balms for your pain or fears. What I do have, I offer you, fellow warrior, is this: I humbly accept the torch from your weary faithful hand and covenant to hold it high as you once did.
