Since Ive been on a bit of a soapbox lately, why not stay up here here a LITTLE bit longer. Today I want to talk about the SHEER IDIOCY of football helmets. Yep. Thats right football helmets. I know football season is over, but Irish watches sports all the damn time and last night he was watching some football recap thing and it got me to thinking about this. Last year Kahri Harding made 11.2 million dollars as a linebacker. Seriously?! If youre making that kind of money, there ought to be some real danger involved. I mean cmon! Id like to see a good concussion or two. A little brain damage on the line in the super bowl would REALLY liven things up. That would make me seriously HAPPY. These guys are ripping us off! And before you ask me, yes I am totally serious. So now here it is, the lovely month of APRIL and what do we have? Baseball. What a heart-stopper there huh? Filled with action and suspense. Suspense all right. Suspense of when this nightmare of a game will be over. Sergio Santos made almost 18 million last year. Are you kidding me?! Lose the cup Santos! A good shot to the old willie wanker would honestly make me wish for a ten inning game. There is no reason these guys need to wear a cup! We spend money, they make way more money and we look like FOOLS! Spending hand over fist to watch a bunch of guys that are scared to get hit by a ball! I may not be the biggest, or any kind of sports fan really, but I think its high time we stopped being SUCKERS to the sports system! Can I get an amen?!
