Another great winter warmer recipe from our Head of Naturopathy, Michelle Avedissian - Naturopath, Nutritionist, Herbalist: BAKED CINNAMON APPLES 4 granny smith apples, cored and roughly chopped 1⁄4 cup organic maple syrup 2 tablespoons coconut oil 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1⁄4 teaspoon ground ginger 1⁄8 teaspoon ground cloves 1⁄4 teaspoon salt Preheat the oven to 180 ̊C. In a large, oven-safe pan combine all of the ingredients and bring the liquid to a boil over medium heat on the stove. Stir the apples until the liquid thickens and becomes a bit sticky, about 1-2 minutes. Transfer the pan to the oven, and bake for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through the baking time. The apples are ready when they are fork-tender and caramelized. Serve warm as is, or with natural yoghurt. Serves 4 [Adapted from detoxinista]
