Another lesson in humility. Saturday was a busy day for me. I participated in a neighborhood Top Gun Competition in the morning and early afternoon. When I got home I fired up the big cooker and put a pork shoulder and some pork chops on the grill. Meanwhile I took another run at creating the Forkish 75% Whole Wheat Levain bread with added cracked wheat ala Chef George Callandrillo. I screwed it up again!!! I remembered to add my starter this time but I was so busy with cooking dinner for saturday night and preparing for Sunday nights dinner that I forgot to shape my dough. After putting the pork shoulder in the fridge I thought my day was done and went to bed. As soon as I woke up on Sunday morning I realized my mistake but I shaped the dough, put it in the fridge until Sunday night and then baked it. What did I have to lose? So, the result was not too bad tasting--a little dense, not much rise but good toast. To be continued....
