The room, food, and level of service were of acceptable standard for the price range. For me, however, the overnight stay evoked cherished memories of my first years in Jakarta, when I would crash on Ramas couch (now the reception area) and tap his encyclopedic knowledge of all things Indonesian far into the night. I am delighted to say that this halcyon experience is now available to anyone, with the addition of air conditioning and clean sheets. Highly recommended for anyone with a genuine interest in the nation and people. Room Tip: For stays of just one night, a better value are the small, bare-bones rooms in the second house
