Another note, I was surfing the Merc forums today and came across a topic that really kind of pissed me off, I just wish people would contact me instead of taking to the forums and just make assumptions and basicly make me look bad. Legacy Armor: 1. The neck collar is over sized for a reason, no two people are the same size and some of the bigger people that have picked up a set have split the chest piece and used a spacer to make it wider. the chest was designed to be able to do this. and the collar being wider alows them to be able to do this and still have a neck collar that fits, its easier to take away then add what is not there. if you dont need the extra width of the neck its a simple thing to trim it and create a beveled edge. 2. The reason I use thinner ABS is because it is more durable then the standard HIPS plastic that a lot of armor makers use. HIPS is heavy, has poor UV resistance which makes it prone to cracks, and over time it becomes fragile. The thinner ABS is superior in every aspect. It is about 25% lighter which might not seem like much but after an all day troop youll be thanking me for using the lighter weight material. It is flexable which means its not going to crack on you which means less repair work for you. The UV rays from the sun do not effect it nearly as much as the HIPS which means less money spent on replacement pieces for fragile cracked or broken pieces. once again youll be thanking me for not haveing to replace your kit in about 3 years - 2 years if you do a lot of trooping especially outdoor trooping. Helmets: 3. I use semi rigid resin for the helmets I offer. Once again there is a specific reason for this. The Semi rigid resin allows me to use less resin for a stronger helmet compaired to many others available out there, and mine are generally lighter because of this. once again youre welcome. If you want to test what i just wrote take one of my helmets and some one elses outside hold one in each hand over the pavement at shoulder height and let go. Ive actually done this. My helmet will bounce and get a few little scratches the other helmet will crack, shatter, or break. Why you ask, its because the semi rigid resin has some give and flexes a bit compaired to the rigid resins that do not so the impact causes them to break. Once again youre welcome. There is a reason I make the armor and helmets the way I do. Comfort, comfort, and to help save all of you money.
