Another prime example of what happens when legalism retranslates the Word of God. I have used the nkjv (translated from kjv) to demonstrate as I have in past. The first below using some correct key words and the second using corrupted. Primarily the word obey being persuaded, then submissive being simulate, and then grief being groaning. The use of obey, as well as many other verses doing same, promotes and justifies legalistic teachings of obediance/works which contradicts Ephesians 2 that in paraphrase says saved hy grace not works. Being persuaded defined is to have confident faith, belief, and trust in God. As Jesus would say, not what entets us but comes out of us in our spirit based on what we believe. - Be pursuaded by those who are leading you, and be simulating, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with groaning, for that would be unprofitable for you. - Hebrews 13:17 - corrected - 17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. - Hebrews 13:17 nkjv
