Another reason why Nutley NJ is one of Americas greatest places to live. -Keeping America Strong town by town, starting here in Nutley, N.J-. The Nutley Department of Public Affairs has established “Nutley Corps” a volunteers in service to Nutley residents program that offers interested citizens, including Nutley students, and local businesses the opportunity to be part of a network of citizen volunteers who are willing to use their skills, talents, expertise and life experiences to assist fellow citizens who have temporary needs. Many citizens may find themselves under medical care, with a temporary loss of mobility. For someone who just had a back operation, or may find themselves bed ridden for a couple of days, a task as simple as walking a dog can become overwhelming. Whatever the need, we will do our best to assist them. I am pleased to say that we are utilizing students who are members of Nutley Corps, with our Adopt-A-Senior program, Bernie’s Club, and our Veterans programs. The Nutley Seniors Helping Seniors Program currently has a core group of volunteers that assist many citizens who need minor repairs in their homes through the former CARE Committee. Nutley Corps will enhance this worthy program. We encourage residents who can lend a helping hand to another citizen who may need minor repairs in their homes, etc, to consider volunteering for Nutley Corps. Nutley students who join Nutley Corps will receive a certificate of participation and a letter of appreciation from the Department of Public Affairs to add to their college applications and resumes.
