Another rewarding and enjoyable week! This week I have been showing a number of recent clients the many and varied benefits of the Dead Lift. The age of these individuals has varied from 29 - 53, and each of them spend extended periods of time in the seated position. We have spent a number of weeks activating and strengthening the incredible hip extensor muscles. We have regularly incorporated various anti-flexion and anti-rotation exercises (vital for core strength). Wed also practice the hip hinge and spend time engaging the vital upper back musculature. In short, each person has an understanding of how tension feels. Each person has the mobility to dead lift. Each person is able to recruit simultaneous groups of muscle, therefore they have the coordination to dead lift. Myself and my clients are not athletes, we train smart, we train hard, and we train safe - minimising risk and maximising reward.
