Another simple meal my Mom used to make. She called it Swiss Steak. Pick up a Round Steak, cut it into portions and lightly floor it. Brown it in a pan. Remove the meat and add a chopped up onion, mushrooms and garlic. Can you smell that !!! When all that is cooked up add the meat back in, poor in enough water to cover and bring back to a boil. Then lower heat to low, cover and simmer for a few hours. Add a little flour to thicken the gravy before serving. This cooked from 1 to 5, meat is as tender as it can get, it falls apart. Add mashed potatoes and whatever else you want. Pack it in… It’s Guuuud !! This took about 15 minutes to make. Dinner for my sweetie… who got called out as soon as she sat down to eat :(
