Another special day for our special boy. When Humphrey was rescued 8 months ago it was thought he had come from the same horrid place another girl was rescued from nearly 2 years earlier. Through the power of social media – we today got to meet “Evie”. I’m no expert but the similarities between these two dogs is amazing. They have the same coat, the same head shape, the same markings , the same body shape and the same awkward goofy run that I have not seen on another Berner. Given the age difference, I am convinced this girl is Humphrey’s daughter. He was so excited to see her. Perhaps they don’t ever forget. Evie is now in the wonderful hands of Jen. She has a wonderful life and loves to play. She was not in as bad a way as Humph and is still not without her little quirks. She won’t eat out of a bowl and drinks from a black kitty litter tray. This was a game of trial and error where for a long time she would only drink water from puddles on the ground. I have said before it is hard work but that is probably the wrong word for it. It is challenging, heartbreaking and time consuming. All credit to Jen for the incredible work she has done with Evie, It definitely shows that time and love are a great healer.
