Another successful drive of ~80 meters (262 feet) - TopicsExpress

Another successful drive of ~80 meters (262 feet) South-South-East. The drive finished in some soft sand. There are some tell tale signs of minor wheel slip in the rovers tracks, this is not a serious issue as the rover is fully capable of extracting itself from such conditions if it is required. Attached is a HazCam image which I have tried to remove the fish eye effect caused by the wide angle lens on these Hazard Avoidance Cameras. Observe the close bunching of the cleat marks in the sand and the frequency of the impressions left by JPL Morse Code design on the wheel tracks, these indicate a small amount of slippage. Position shown on attached MSL Route Map is correct, however, path may be adjusted when more data becomes available (PH)
