Another thing that fascinates me is how people can forget quickly what they said or did in the past and come at you with a grin when there is something to be gained or they perceive you to have some influence. It is blase, and there is a nonchalant ease with which the new mask is worn and the old one shed. Integrity is a rare quality and if we can instill that as part of character building in kids we would have done a great job in changing a sick world. Btw, there is nothing wrong in wanting to befriend an old foe. Simply admit there has been an incident in the past and that you played a part in the wrong for which you are repentant. People think that just extending a hand of friendship is enough and the ego can be comfortably ensconced and protected in its false pride safely.
