Another week, and two more airports get added to Turkish Airlines‘ vast network of routes from Istanbul Atatürk (IST). This week’s lucky airports are Gassim (ELQ) in Saudi Arabia, and Salzburg (SZG) in Austria. Gassim becomes the airline’s seventh destination in Saudi Arabia, while Salzburg becomes its second Austrian destination (after Vienna). Both routes will be served with four weekly flights operated by the airline’s 737-800s, and, not surprisingly, neither route is served by any other carrier. In addition Turkish Airlines has also expanded at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) with the addition of a new daily service to Milan Malpensa (MXP), and in Antalya (AYT), with the launch of weekly, seasonal flights to Hamburg (HAM).
